Title: Leo of the Mountain
Series: Starry Nights

This print features a mountain lion with the constellation, Leo, stretching between its chin and paws. The mountain lion comes forward, emerging out of the darkness of space. It's larger than life, as any Leo obviously is.

The constellation and surrounding stars (and galaxies!) are painted from NASA photos. I love science and astronomy too, so I am thrilled that NASA allows artists to utilize their space photography and research for their work. I do take a little creative license with the stars, etc., just like I do with the animals in my paintings.

The watermark will not be printed on your finished print. It is there for copyright purposes on the internet.

Materials

Title: Gemini Platypi
Series: Starry Nights

This print features two platypuses (or platypi) swimming through the Gemini constellation.

Gemini Platypi is the first of my Astro Animal series. It was commissioned for a for a fabulous Gemini who loves platypi. Because these are aquatic animals, I decided to make the darkness of space in between the stars look like water.
The platypus is a duck-billed, beaver-tailed, otter-footed, egg-laying mammal. It is native to Australia.
The watermark will not be printed on your finished print. It is there for copyright purposes on the internet.
