This painting features an octopus being a little bit extra.

Octo Scorpio is inspired by the Scorpio consetellation. It's in the upper left of the canvas, crossing the Milky Way. Given the power and prowess associated with Scorpio, this painting needed to be epic.

If you're wondering why I didn't paint a scorpion, there are a couple reasons. The most important is that I like doing things a little bit strangely, sideways, or not quite as expected. I have to be true to myself. So, in lieu of a scorpion, what made sense to me? The octopus has enough curves, bazaar aspects, and a pokey beak. I decided that would definitely work for me for this one. I hope it works for you too!

The photo reference for this piece is from an excellent photographer, scuba diver, and good friend, Jan Lindner.
